Speaking for myself, here, but I think I can also promise help from other
South Florida boxers, not that there are that many of us . . . yet.
I think I can guarantee that if anyone plants a box in Miami-Dade, Broward,
or Palm Beach counties, and you get a report of a problem with your box, we can
get someone out there to check on it for you. So if anyone's thinking of
planting one as they pass through our area, PLEASE DO!
If you're going to be farther away than that, well, we'll try, but it may
take longer before someone gets out that way. Still, we'd be thrilled if you
plant one, and we'll "do our best" as we say in Cub Scouts.

Thanks for the help. I am coming to Miami TOMORROW!!!! (I can't wait to
get out from under all of this southern Ontario snow) I have a box all
ready to be planted but I was concerned about its maintanence. It's
great to be part of a community that takes such good care of each other!

And I'm sitting down here wishing I were in Ontario! We were up there
almost exactly this time last year and had SUCH a good time. I SO wish I could do
it again this year.
How long will you be here and what is your schedule like? Any chance you'll
get up our way?

Nana-- I'm not sure if you'll be able to get this, since you'll be
traveling, but I'd love to give you a box to plant up in Ontario when you go home, if
you'd like.
We'd have to figure out somewhere to meet so I can pass it off to you. If
you check email while on the road, let me know.

I'm sorry! I didn't get my act together fast enough. By the time I got
the idea and made sure I had a design to carve to give you, you'd already left.
Hope you had a good trip down here, anyway. Do any boxing?

I didn't stray far from our hotel. What else does a Canadian need in
February except a loung chair beside a pool? I was very sorry to
leave...beautiful place, Miami. I did bring back a souveneir sunburn,
but I'm afraid that it may fade before I get a chance to really show it
off to my friends at church on Sunday.
I did plant one (my very first!), but I'm having some trouble posting my
clues on the web site. Grrrrr!

Well, it's in Bayside park in Miami. I didn't have any transportation,
so I had to just do what I could. It's a very easy location.
There is an oasis just north of the fountain dedicated to Claude Pepper
(not the doctor). If you walk over the bridge and look back over the
water, you will see a tree as old as time, covered with a wonderful
vine. The box is in the crook of the tree about 7 feet high. You may
have to climb a bit. I hope you find it....let me know if you do!
